Top trends to emerge from SSP 2022

The Society for Scholarly Publishing Annual Meeting was back as an in-person event this year and attendees were happy to once again share information and collaborate face-to-face. Andrea Chiarelli, Ph.D., Senior Consultant at Maverick’s research partner Research Consulting, was in attendance throughout the conference and was instrumental in developing and facilitating a popular panel discussion on reproducibility moderated by Maverick CEO, Rebecca Rinehart.

An experienced and methodical researcher, Dr. Chiarelli met with numerous attendees from a variety of backgrounds to develop a perspective on the current state of scholarly communication. In his new post, Elevating Scholarly Communication – Three trends that struck me at the SSP’s 44th annual meeting, he formulates his takeaways into three top trends to watch. It is a must-read for everyone in the scholarly publishing sector.

In addition to the reproducibility panel, Maverick participated in three other sessions covering a wide array of topics, including image accessibility and scholarly SEO. We are already excited for next year’s SSP annual meeting.
